His Career:
Threatt was selected in the 6th round(!) of the 1983 NBA Draft (#139) by the Philadelphia 76ers. He improved constantly from his rookie season (3.3 ppg) until 1985-'86 (9.9 ppg). In the 1986-'87 midseason he was traded to Chicago and the following year he got traded to the Seattle Supersonics. He stayed in Seattle 4 more years and was a valuable backup, increasing his scoring/game each season (from 7.5 points in 1988 to 12.7 in 25 minutes in 1991).
In 1991 he went to the Lakers and became the starting point guard, as Magic Johnson retired. He averaged 15.1 points, 7.2 assists and 2 steals in 37 minutes played. His numbers remained very stable in 1993: 15.1 points and 6.9 assists. That year he led the team in scoring, assists and steals.
With the development of Nick Van Exel, he headed to the bench once again in 1994. His minutes went down and so did his other numbers but he was always a valuable reserve. He remained in L.A. until the end of the 1996 season. The following year he played only 21 games for the Houston Rockets and averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 assists.
