[ Man of the Match Ducks ]

Test Match: The Sloggers d. The Bones Boys 23rd August 1997 S M Qadri

Mustafa had a great day at the crease, scoring 45 runs at an average of 7.50. He also narrowly missed out on a 10 wicket haul, bagging 9 scalps instead at an excellent average of 2.33 and took one catch.

Test Match: One Nation d. The Hybrids 4th October 1997 A M Korbel

Korbs' batting was the shining light of the match, as Adrian finished just 2 runs short of a century in ten innings of batting. His superlative average of 12.25 over a match of such duration was impeccable and is still widely regarded as one of the most outstanding knocks in Super 4s history. In addition, Korbs took ten wickets over the course of the day.

First-Class Match: 27th November 1997 N M Shehata

Mena's impressive batting average of 8.75 for the day, excellent bowling performance and two catches, including an excellent quick reflex catch at short leg earned him man of the match on his debut.

Test Match: The Penetrators d. The Yobs 30th November 1997 D Lau

Daniel averaged a huge 16.5 in his debut, including a 13* and a 18. His batting virtually won the match for the Penetrators as he stood firmly at the crease against a talented Yobs' bowling attack. Dan also took two catches.

First-Class Match: 7th December 1997 K H-K Ng

Keith surprised many Super 4s observers by hitting an excellent innings of 13 and finished the day with a batting average of 7.00. Three wickets (1 maiden) and a catch complemented this man-of-the-match performance.

First-Class Match: 18th December 1997 T-T Tan

Teng-Tjun shined in a marvellous batting display, hitting boundaries consistently off such bowlers as Tom Koh and Mus Qadri, for scores of 40* and 25* (the second score not out because rain halted play) to answer any critics. Teng also bowled two wicket maidens from three overs, and took a catch.

Test Match: The Penetrators d. The Yobs 28th December 1997 A M Korbel

The first player to chalk up two man-of-the-match awards, Adrian had a huge batting day, being able to face the noodle-like deliveries of Victor Ding, the slow medium balls of Keith Ng and the dangerous but expensive offspinners of Mustafa Qadri. He added 91 runs to his total, at a superlative 22.75 average and took four wickets at 3.5 with a maiden. The shonky bowling faced by Korbel downplayed this batting display somewhat, but the ordinary performance of fellow Penetrator batsman Teng Tan does show that Adrian's batting was still comparatively classy.

Test Match: Tools d. The Bones Boys 12th April 1998 E M-T Lau

Eddo Lau scored 26 runs at an average of 13, one run short of top scorer Korbel and easily captured the day's best bowling figures (4/5 in 4 overs) with excellent pace bowling. He also added a catch in his Super 4s debut and captained the newest Super 4s team, Tools to a strong victory in a high quality match.

First-Class Match: 10th May 1998 A M Korbel

Adrian beat out Teng Tan for the day's honours, slogging his way to scores of 29 and 18 in a shortish match. He also got a high of four wickets in just 4.1 overs with a maiden while conceding just six runs. Adrian's third man of the match from only seven appearances was complemented by his typically classy outfielding and quick poaching of singles.
Test Match: 19th December 1999 A M Korbel

No surprises that Adrian topscored with the bat and led all wicket takers with 8 wickets in just 9 overs on his way to taking out the first ever player of the day award. His batting after over a year's practice in the nets embodied the slogging that is the spirit of Super 4s. His 72 runs from 59 balls were scored for the cost of just one dismissal, a narrow run out at the hands of Eddo Lau on the last ball of an innings.

Man of the Match Ducks

These well-known players are yet to earn a Man of the Match award:
W Y-J Lin
Atrocious batting displays have prevented Will Lin from ever getting close to winning a Man of the Match award. Despite chalking up several 'dnb's behind Class A batsmen, Will needs a particularly outstanding bowling display and a solid fielding day if he is to win the award without the requisite batting component.
T C-E Koh
Tommy was bestowed with the highest bowling honours at the end of 1997 but has yet to produce a singularly outstanding bowling day. Tom's batting is consistent and good enough to supplement his bowling should his pace deliveries rise to the challenge.
C Liu
Charles holds the best ever test figures, 11-57, but was beaten to MoM honours in that debut match by Adrian Korbel (who took 10-24 and scored 98 runs). Since then, Chaz has been unable to produce anything close to his originally lethal legspin, and has never been better than a Class B batsman.
V Y-C Ding
The noodle is an inconsistent bowler and is rivalled in lowest batting average only by Will Lin. A large amount of improvement, with shorts as a start, would be needed for Victor to even dream of MoM honours.
E L Squires
Ed has steadily improved his Super 4s play, particularly his bowling action, but is still easily dispatched by standard batsmen. His batting credentials remain below par.
M Novakovic
It is not at all surprising that Mark has never won a MoM award, considering he is arguably the all-time greatest ogre in Super 4s history.
