Main Items.
I) Positions :-
Due to the coming and going of members it has been found necessary to form a new committee. The following nominations were put forward:-
a) CHAIRMAN - Martin Sheard.
Nominated - Michael McGowan.
Seconded - David Forster.
b) SECRETARY - David Woods.
Nominated - David Forster.
Seconded - Michael McGowan.
c) TREASURER - Michael McGowan.
Nominated - Martin Sheard.
Seconded - David Forster.
d) RECORDS OFFICER - David Forster
Nominated - Gavin Tucker.
Seconded - Martin Sheard.
II) Treasurers report.
Michael McGowan stated that the Club has £771.10 in the Newcastle Building Society account.
Membership fees are now due for the coming year. Fees are to be paid as soon as possible.
III Hetton-Le-Hole.
Michael McGowan asked members if they wanted to move to a new location i.e. Eppleton Welfare Social Scheme, Hetton-Le-Hole. This is a private club which would offer safe and quiet surroundings to shoot in. The current census of opinion seems to be to stay at Gilesgate. If this changes, approaches can be made to the Town Clerk of Hetton council, who has said that he will act on our behalf.
IV Purchase of equipment.
Michael McGowan proposed the purchase of archery equipment and accessories. We could have a choice of bows as follows
a) Purchase two more Win&Win bows
b) Purchase an entry level compound bow and a longbow/flat bow.
V Backstop netting
Michael McGowan proposed the purchase of a new backstop netting for the sports hall. The current number of members in the club means we may have to book both halls for the indoor season 2001-2002. This was agreed, therefore Michael McGowan will speak to Diane Mahoney(Gilesgate Community Association) to see if GCA will split the cost of the new net.
VI Tournaments
Yet again very few people from our club are going to tournaments through the year. Arrange for David Woods/David Forster to hand out shooting calendars for the coming year and remind members of shoots coming up in the future(i.e. each month). Michael McGowan made members aware of a number of field shoots coming up in 2001.
VII Club Clothing
Michael McGowan has offered to make a list of members requiring T-shirts, sweatshirts etc. and order them. Anyone wanting something should see Michael.
The meeting came to a close at 8.00pm.
