 Picked 33rd overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1990 Entry Draft, Craig stayed with the Blues until near the end of the 1995-96 season when the club acquired his services, along with those of Patrice Tardif and Roman Vopat, as well as a first-round 1997 draft, in exchange for Wayne Gretzky. Abdominal injuries kept Craig out of the lineup for al but 31 games during the 1996-97 season. In the 1997-98 season Craig played in 74 games, picking up 38 points. During the 1998-99 campaign, he scored seven goals and had 12 assists in 69 games.
 Before moving up to the professional ranks, Craig played from 1990 to 1993 with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, tallying 135 points in 116 games. In his final season, Craig led the Golden Gophers in goals, with 22.
 In 1993-94, Craig played with the United States National Team and with the U.S. Olympic Team, amassing 55 points in 62 games.
 During the off-season Craig is an instructor with the Kings Youth Hockey Camp. Craig also is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.
