The New Jersey Devils selected Jaroslav with their eleventh choice (179th overall) in the 1990 Entry Draft. In 1993-94 he played in 41 games with the Devils, scoring two goals and 15 assists. On July 8, 1995, he was traded to Ottawa for a fourth round pick (Alyn McCauley). In 64 games with the Senators in 1995-96, he scored four goals and 14 assists. He was traded
to the Kings with an eighth-round pick for Kevin Brown, on March 20, 1996. In 44 career games with Los Angeles, he has scored three goals and seven assists. In1 998-99, Jaroslav had one assist in five games with the Kings. He also suited up with Long Beach of the IHL, totaling 35 points in 64 games.
 Before coming to North America, Jaroslav skated for Budejovice and Dulka Trencin of the Czech League. He has also played for Utica and Albany of the AHL and Phoenix and Utah of the IHL.
