Buccaneers Postseason Records
(January 8, 2003)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs this Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium. The purpose of this article is to show some of the Bucs playoff records and the current career postseason leaders. First, lets give a little history on the Bucs in the playoffs.

This is the ninth time the Buccaneers will make the postseason. They have won four division championships and gone as a wild card five times. This is the team's fourth straight playoff appearance and the fifth in six seasons. They have played ten previous playoff games, winning three and losing seven. The Bucs have averaged just 8.5 points per game in the postseason. They did not score a touchdown in five of the games, including the last three, and have been shutout twice. In six games, the franchise has not posted a postseason victory on the road. But, it is not all doom and gloom. While the Bucs have not made it to the Super Bowl, they have appeared in the NFC Championship Game twice. The Buccaneers have won three of four home playoff games and they are favored this weekend.
