2003 IRISH GO CONGRESS

Introduction

A 4 day congress including 3 Irish titles and a leg of the Toyota European Grand Prix Will entice many Go players to Ireland. The Irish Rapid takes place on the Friday evening followed by the 14th Irish Open on Saturday & Sunday and finish with the Irish Handicap on Monday. The five-round tournament will be conducted under a McMahon draw, all games will be played with 60 minutes per player and Canadian overtime of 15 stones in five minutes. Japanese rules will be used with a komi of 5.5. All events will be held in The Teachers Club, Parnell Square.

Payment will be accepted at registration for overseas participants. Cheques and bankdrafts must be in Euros and made payable to the Irish Go Association.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded for all participants achieving three or more wins in the main tournament. 1st and 2nd place overall will receive cash prizes.

Accommodation

We recommend that you arrange your accommodation as soon as possible; Dublin has many hotels and some hostel accommodation. The Teachers Club is situated in the city centre, very close to O'Connell Street. It is within easy walking distance of the major shopping areas, theatres, restaurants, museums etc.
