Introduction

KuRingGai Bowmen has a number of NCAS (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme) accredited coaches who run beginners courses approximately every two months. Each course is run for 3 consecutive weeks and caters for complete novices of all ages. KuRingGai Council also provide opportunities for youngsters to have their first experience with a bow and arrow under well supervised circumstances. Our club also offers archery equipment for hire (*$5.00 per week) at the completion of the beginners. (*All fees are subject to change).

Once you have completed the beginners course, you may not be certain that you wish to carry on with the sport. At this stage you may become a "Probationary Member". For half the full club fees, which we need to pay to ASNSW to be covered by insurance, you can be a probationary member for 8 weeks. For example, in July when full fees are due, a probationary member will pay *$60.00 for the 8 weeks shooting. If you do not have your own equipment, to hire club equipment it is only an extra **$5.00 per day.

After 8 weeks, you need to decide if you wish to continue with the sport and become an archer and member of our club. To do this you will just need to pay the balance of the club fees.

So for eight weeks you can continue to learn the sport of archery for as little as $12.00.

Fees

Beginners Course * $70.00 for 3 weeks - equipment provided.

Probationary Member *50.00 for eight weeks. If you wish to join the remaining club fees are due plus the joining fee.

New members joining fee of *$15.00 plus annual membership fee. (The joining fee is a once only administration cost.)

Annual Membership *$160.00 for seniors, *$95.00 for juniors. These fees include sports insurance, affiliate membership of Archery Australia Inc./ Archery Society of NSW Inc., and unlimited event participation. The club has canteen, BBQ facilities, toilets suitable for wheelchair access, a Club newsletter and a twelve month event program all for the cost of the membership fee.

Expense comparison to "Golf"

As you can appreciate, it is a very inexpensive way to try out this great sport. In comparison with golf - to hire golf clubs and pay ground fees it would cost you from $35.00 to $85.00 **per day**. Also for the first year's membership of a golf club being at around $450.00 with the joining fee!!!
