Owen Hart's Career

Following Owen tragic death at IYH: Over The Edge in May, I take a look back at Owen's illustrious career in the WWF.

1988
Owen debuted in the WWF as the Blue Blazer. The talented high-flyer won Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Rookie of the Year for 1987.

1992
Spent some time in the WCW and Japan before returning to the WWF with Jim Neidhart as The New Foundation. Despit being a popular and capable team, they split up when Neidhart left the federation. Owen later formed High Energy with Koko B. Ware. Hart had already teamed with Koko on several occasions.

1993
At the Survivor Series, Hart teamed with his brothers against Jerry Lawler's Knights. This led to a heel turn and a major push as a singles wrestler for Owen.

1994
Defeated Bret cleanly in the opener of Wrestlemania X. [This match was one of my favourites]     Owen got help from Neidhart in the final round of the King Of The Ring against Razor Ramon. Fueded with Bret over the world title for the rest of the year, which led to agreat Summerslam match and the return of the British Bulldog.

1995
Teamed with Yokozuna to win his first title, the tag-team belt, at Wrestlemania XI. The team spent most of the year in a fued with the British Bulldog and Lex Luger.

1996
Owen teamed with Bulldog and had one of the greatest tag-teams ever.

1997
Bret Hart reformed the Hart Foundation with Davey and Owen, which included the late Brian Pillman and Jim Neidhart. Won the I/C title from Rocky Maiviabut later lost it to Steve Austin at Summerslam. When Austin forfeited the title, Owen won a tournament to decide a new champ on October 5 (the same day Brian Pillman was found dead in his hotel room.) Owe then lost the title to Austin at Survivor Series.

1998
Owen turned face after Bret was screwed at Survivor Series for a short time, but became a heel after a fued with HHH over the European title, which he held for two months.

1999
Formed a successful tag-team with Jeff Jarrett and won the tag titles on RAW the day after the Royal Rumble. Owen was set to win the I/C title at Over The Edge as the Blue Blazer, but died during a stunt before the match could begin.
