Disney continues to pump out sequels to some of their most successful films and biggest classics...and The Santa Clause was no different. And as most sequels do, this one fell short of the original. It seemed watered down and had less holiday magic than The Santa Clause, a movie that I thought was a really good and memorable Christmas classic. This one picks up 8 years later. Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) is still Santa and his elves love him. But he finds out almost simultaneously that his son is on the "naughty" list this year AND he needs to find a woman to marry by Christmas Eve or else he will stop being Santa! Heavens no!!! He decides to go and look for a wife but he needs someone to be in charge...so he uses a machine to make a toy version of himself to run things at the North Pole. But unless you are on The Bachelor, there are no groups of women standing in line waiting to become your wife...especially if you are a jolly fat man who only works one day a year! Scott eventually falls for a woman who just happens to be his son's principal. Back at the North Pole, the toy clone of Santa goes nutty and wants to give all of the children coal for Christmas. He builds an army of toy soldiers who end up battling the elves and the returning Santa.

    ----- HOT -----

  • Tim Allen - How can you not like Tim Allen? Especially when he is Santa!
  • All of the major actors returned for this film, which always helps a sequel.
  • Some of the visuals are good. The North Pole and inside of Santa's workshop is bright and cheery. And then you have the lovable reindeer!
  • Despite it's flaws, it was still a cute Christmas film that the family can enjoy.

    ----- NOT -----

  • I thought this movie went a little over the top in certain areas and took away a little of the spirit that the first movie had. I didn't particularly like the "toy" Santa because it just seemed a little dorky.
  • Elizabeth Mitchell - the woman who plays the potential future Mrs. Claus. Nothing against her acting but she is way too cute to be a school principal. LoL.
