I think I started to watch DC near the end of the 1st season. Since then, it's become more soap-opera-ish but I still watch it. The story centers around Dawson (James Van Der Beek), who lives near a creek. His life-long friend and off again, on again girlfriend, Joey (Katie Holmes), is the girl next door with lots of family problems. As they and a group of friends try to make it through high school, they face teenage problems and speak very intellectualy along the way.
