The Future of Valeri Bure
By Amber Forrest
It all started one afternoon when Valeri Bure, a member of the Calgary Flames, set out in his dark blue Pathfinder. He had plans to go do a little shopping with his buddy Cale Hulse. They decided to meet at Eaton's Center around 2ish. Valeri arrived at Eaton's Center early, parked his Pathfinder, and strolled around the mall. He was only there for a few minutes when he came upon a little booth. He was curious and walked slowly in, with his big doe eyes searching around him, at all the weird and magical things. He was startled by a old wise voice. "What brings you here?" He turned quickly to see a large old lady dressed in a dark purple robe with little gold stars and moons decked on it. She had rings on every finger and more then a few gold chains around her neck. She beckoned for him to sit on a chair opposite hers. A little table separated them as she carefully moved her prized crystal ball into the middle of it. Valeri never really believed in fortune tellers but this could be kinda fun. Valeri thought he was a sneaky European and asked, "Will I ever be rich and famous?" She looked at him and answered "Aren't you already?" "Woah this woman is good!" he thought to himself. Valeri thought of his wife Candace Cameron Bure, at home making dinner for him and Cale for when they were done their shopping. Or rather ordering in from some pizza joint. That was one thing he couldn't stand she never seemed to cook anything and if she did it was Kraft Dinner. "What is my wife going to look like a few years?" Valeri inquired. "She was a big girl wasn't she?" the lady asked. "Yes, yes she was." he answered. "Well it's going to get much worse, she will be a quite a large lady and it's not going to take long. It is her destiny." Valeri was very disturbed by this, he stood up and left a 20 dollar bill on the ladies table and left.
Cale noticed something was bothering Val, he had a dazed look on his face and wasn't his talkative self. Not wanting to trouble him anymore then he already was Cale decided to not ask any questions. After getting the few things he wanted they worked their way towards the door of the mall but not before they came to La Senza, Cale's all time favorite store. "HEY, check it out Val! I didn't know that they had this store here! Lets go in and scope it out, maybe you'll find something for Candace." he gave Valeri a big nudge and snickered, "I can even leave early tonight too." As they walked in, a young, pretty, blonde girl asked if they need any help. "Uhhh yeah," piped up Cale. "Buddy here needs something for his girl, doesn't matter just something to cheer him up a bit eh?" "Sounds good." she answered and led them to the back where she pull out a slinky, red night dress. "AHHH HAA! That's perfect! We'll take it!"
As they walked into the door of Valeri's house he handed Candace, who was waiting on then, the little La Senza bag. A wide smile spread across her face as she opened it and found the dress. But then all of a sudden it faded from her face. "What's wrong?" he asked. "It's too small, I won't fit this." Valeri started to wonder if the old lady was right, but no she couldn't be! Days later Valeri started to wonder if Candace had be gaining weight. She looked bigger and started wearing baggy cloths. Then what was weirder was he got a letter in the mail with a picture of Candace with the words written "It's her destiny." on the back. Valeri stared at the picture for a while he couldn't believe it was her, Candace in a few years!
All of this lead to Valeri Bure running off with one of his slim, pretty, brunette fans and living happy ever after!
