![]() We know that down the stretch, one of the Panthers is going to step up and get the job done. And that's the whole idea of all of this. It isn't just about winning football games. It isn't about showcasing some former famous athletes son, or re-living the glory of some one else's high school days. It's about developing character, and it's about developing confidence. Football is just the game we play. It's November 24th 1999, and it's time for some reflection. No more team parties, no more Pro Bowls, no more Superbowls: the season, and indeed an era is over. The Panthers accomplished something other football teams of any age only dream of: From 1996 to 1999 they were in all 4 PFL Superbowls, winning 2 of the 4 (their "back to back" superbowl wins remains unmatched in the PFL). Their overall record for these 4 years (including playoff's and superbowls) is 46-7, truly a remarkable feat. And although PFL rules does not allow keeping scores for their Flag teams, rumor has it that if they did, the Panthers went undefeated in their 1995 flag season. I love you guys. Thanks for the memories. |
