I was born in Xenia, Ohio on July 2, 1957, the third of four children (and the only boy). Guy and Alberta Harper moved to Fort Lauderdale when I was still in elementary school (I started 4th grade in Florida), so I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I graduated from Stranahan High School in 1975 (though that's where I graduated from, I attended Stranahan for less than a year. I attended Northeast High School my freshman, sophomore, junior and started my senior year there before I transferred to Stranahan. It was a difficult thing to do. While I met some great folks at Stranahan, my heart will always be with my friends I grew up with and went to school with at North Andrews Gardens Elementary School, Rickards Middle School, and Northeast H.S. during that time). I joined the Navy later that year, and was assigned to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) while she was still being built, in 1979 I was assigned to NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Florida, and in 1981 I was assigned to the USS Koelsch (FF 1049). I left the Navy in 1983, moved to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma City Community College. I returned to Fort Lauderdale in the late 80's, and then moved to Plano, Texas in 1990. I left Texas in 2001, and I now live in Norman, Ok.
