Who says I don't exercise.

Dieting,

for me, is a form of exercise. Why, you may ask, well simply put, I work
harder than anyone else I know at;
1) Counting Calories 2) Reading every label on every package in the grocery store. 3) Walking through the book store once a week to find a new "Diet Fad" book, only to get them home and found out I have to go back to the store to buy the right combination of food to accommodate the latest book I bought. 4) Spending 30 minutes weighing each item I'm going to fix. 5) Learning how many new ways there are to fix, chicken and fish, gee there are at least 10 or 15 for each, that can be accomplished with a minimum of physical labor. (That is probably the least amount of energy I've used all week) 6) Rummaging through my closet to find which dress size I fit into this week, or going to the department store, and spending a couple of hours trying on a variety of sizes to see which ones fit the best this week.
Okay, as I see it, I have just spent an enormous amount of calories and
energy, and now I'm too exhausted to eat what I have just prepared.

Who says I don't exercise?

A WORD ABOUT WATER

Part 1

Think about the old saying you've heard since you were a very young child,
"Your body consists of 75% water. Have you ever seen what happens when
you let a pan full of liquid boil dry? Well, in the bottom of the pan you
see a residue of whatever liquid you were boiling. This is the same thing
that would happen in our bodies if we did not replace the fluid we use in
day to day activities.
Women have a problem with water retention at various times and our first
reaction is to stop drinking water, when in fact, the human body is geared
to survival and when we start messing around with it's balance it will fight
hard to maintain what it needs to function.
If we stop drinking water, a whole lot of things start happening, first, our
body will stop eliminating water because it will reserve what ever it
has so that it won't dehydrate, next, digestion will become sluggish and
very hard for the body, then each internal organ will have to work a lot
harder than normal to perform its task and then eventually fail.
With water, our body cleans out all of the toxins built up by, eating,
exercising, and just living. To do this you must be urinating frequently
through out the day (once every 2 hours), and if you are not, that means
that all of the toxins and staying in you body and doing harm to you and
probably causing you to be ill a lot and just plain not feel well.
Eventually, if our bodies are deprived of water long enough, we can cause
organ diseases, and failure. If you are exercising and not drinking
a lot of water, you are setting yourself up for, heat exhaustion, heat stroke,
and collapsing, and sometimes in very, very extreme cases as in using a
steam room or sauna in addition, even death.
The fact is, that if you are exercising to lose weight and drinking more
water than you think you need, you are probably losing more weight than
if you are just trying to sweat all the water out. Digestion and calorie
burning with speed up tremendously with enough water to work with.
Remember this, if you wait until you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated
and by then your body has to work overtime to replace the fluid,

DRINK BEFORE YOU ARE THIRSTY!!!

MORE ABOUT WATER

Part 2

If you read the last article on water and took it seriously, then you should
probably take this seriously also.
How many times have you said to yourself or someone else, "I should drink
more water but I don't like it"? Well, a large part of it may be the water you
are drinking. If you are drinking tap water, you probably don't like it.
I drink a lot of water, more than you would believe unless you workout as
hard as I do. I do not attempt to drink tap water unless it is the only
thing available, and then of course I do not hesitate because dehydration
will cause a whole set of problems itself.
When you drink tap water, your are drinking a lot of other things, like
chlorine, contaminants, and whatever the water treatment plant couldn't remove.
Some areas that we live in may have better tap water than others, but the only
people that I know that do drink a lot of water, drink bottled water, and
the reason for this is that is simple, it tastes better!!
I go to the extreme and drink distilled water. The argument people give
me there is something I heard 30 years ago in school, you get minerals from
you drinking water. Thirty years ago we didn't have a lot of polluted water.
Any good sports book will tell you, in these days of such pollution and
what industry has done to our underground water, it is better not to depend on
water for nutrients of any kind because along with that, there are a lot of
toxins that come along with it.
I agree with the scientists that test water for purity when they say, if your
water tastes bad or looks bad, it probably is bad.
The realization that I have come upon, only my opinion, is that if something
doesn't make you ill immediately, then the FDA and other regulatory
agencies, say that it is safe for human consumption. The only time they
will make things change is when people get sick in a very short time, as
in food poisoning. So my feelings are that if you drink enough bad water
over a period of time, you will end up very sick, without proof of what
caused it. Now, if you have never had a glass or bottle of really good
water, now is the time to go try it and I'll bet you'll feel better and
may even say you like it.

So now lets have a drink of water

Well, enough of that, now for some tidbits about, what are simply known as
myths about dieting.

Myth #1- Not eating, is a good way to lose weight. -WRONG- as one who tryed that, all you will do is lose good health.

Myth #2- If I don't exercise constantly, I won't accompolish anything. -WRONG- the idea is to exercise "regularly."
Myth #3- If I just eat salads, I'll lose weight and keep it off. -WRONG- if you just eat salads, you'll turn into a rabbit, and lose out on other nutrients your body needs.
Myth #4-If I drink a lot of water, I will gain water weight. -WRONG- in reality, your body will release water if it knows it will get more.
