Theo Fleury's Junior Career

Theoren Fleury's WHL Career
Fleury played for Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL from 1984-1988, where he became an instant fan-favourite because of his electric, gritty and no fear style of play. In other WHL arenas however, he was the most hated man on the ice. In some arenas they would play "Pop goes the Weasel" when he came on the Ice. Individually, Fleury enjoyed incredible success throughout his WHL career, scoring 201 goals and 472 points in 274 career games. In 87-88 he tied for the WHL scoring lead with Joe Sakic and was named the Junior Hockey player of the year by The Hockey News. In the dub, Theo was also as durable as he is in the NHL, missing games only for the World Junior tournament in 1986/87 and 1987/88. Fleury played his final game in Moose Jaw on Theoren Fleury Night March 12, 1988. On January 20, 1990, he had his #9 sweater retired in Moose Jaw.
