Lake of Garda

We spent the summer holiday of 1996, as usual, at the Garda Lake (Italy). The Garda Lake is the biggest lake in Italy. It lies in the north and it's only a 3-hour drive from where we live (Turin).

We had a great time and although we stayed for 4 weeks, they passed as fast as 3. We stayed in an apartment next to the area I always used to camp.

My parents also came to the lake and they stayed at the camping area (San Remo). Here's a picture of them in front of their tent with Krizia and Jacky their Jack Russell Terrier.

Dronten

After our holiday (in July) we went to Holland.
Krizia learned to crawl and when she saw the green grass in Dronten she just wanted to try it out.

Wim at Apenheul

In Holland I worked 4 days a week for NCR. The remaining day we made some trips. On one of those days we went to a special zoo (Apenheul) where they only have monkeys, most of them without cages as you can see on the picture to the right.

ArenA

As soon as the new Ajax stadium (the Amsterdam ArenA) opened, we went there to see what it looked like. You can see me just in the lower left corner. The stadium roof can be closed, which really gave me an "indoor" feeling.

Ajax

Here's another picture of me taken in the Arena next to the head of "Ajax", the greek god that is the symbol of the best team in the world.

Ajax-Juve

Unfortunately Ajax didn't defend its title of best team in the world; they lost inthe Champions League final on May 22, 1996 against Juventus after penalty kicks. But we really cheered for them as you can see in this picture that was taken before the final... BTW This picture has been hosted on the official Ajax site too!
