Eau Claire police today are looking for three Green Bay Packers fans who took out their frustration
over Monday night's debacle at Lambeau Field on a Vikings fan who was celebrating on Water
Street.
The 22-year-old Eau Claire man was taken to the Luther Hospital emergency room with a head injury
after he was struck by the passenger door of a moving car.
The man was treated and released at the hospital.
According to Eau Claire police reports, the man was celebrating the Vikings victory with some
friends shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. While standing on the side of the road in the 300 block of
Water Street, the door of the passing car suddenly swung open as the car sped past him.
The man was struck by the door and knocked to the ground, striking his head on the pavement.
A friend of the man told police he recognized the occupants of the car as three disgruntled Packers
fans who had threatened them earlier in the evening.
Several witnesses told police one of the people in the speeding car was wearing a Reggie White
Packers jersey.
