Born in Genotofte, Denmark on December 26, 1963.  Lars is 5'7" and weighs about 130lbs.  He has blonde hair and green eyes.  Lars plays the drums and is known for his pounding and driving rhythms.  Admist rumors of breaking off with Skylar Satinstein (his girlfriend), they were married on January 27, 1997 with James Hetfield standing in as best dude.  Lars drives several kinds of vehicles including a Porsche, Chevy Blazer, Range Rover and a Saab.  Lars likes to drink dry white wine and Evian water along with tea.  His favorite foods are French, tuna, sushi and frozen yogurt.  As for his favorite sports teams they include the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Jose Sharks.  His first concert was Deep Purple in 1973.  Lars had a couple of jobs before
the birth of Metallica and they included a paper boy and a gas station attendant.   In his spare time Lars likes to scuba dive, run, ski and spend with his wife.    He also like fashion and art and going to movies.  When not in the studio Lars likes to listen to Oasis, AIC and Black Grape.  Lars looks up to Guillermo Vilas an Argentinean tennis player, Ritchie Blackmore and Ace Frehley.

James Alan Hetfield

Born in Los Angeles, California on August 3, 1963.  James stands at 6'1" and weighs about 180lbs.  He has blonde and blues eyes.  James is the lead singer and usually play the rhythm  guitar.  He is known for his angst-ridden, soul-rending, growling, loud ass vocals.  James recently married his longtime girlfriend, Francesca, on August 17, 1997. And they are expecting there first child in June of 1998. James likes to drive his Chevy Blazer, Dodge Ram and a '55 Chevy Bel Air.   His favorite foods are Mexican, meat-n-potatoes, barbecued food and oysters.   Before playing with Metallica, James played in different bands like Obsession and Leather Charm.  His pre-Metallica  employment consisted of working in a sticker factory.  His favorite sports teams are Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks and D.C. United.  When James is not in the studio he likes to listen to Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Lynyrd, Skynyrd and Thin Lizzy.  His first concert was AC/DC and Aerosmith in 1978.  In spare time he likes to hunt, hot-rods. snowboarding, street hockey, wave boarding, cigars, choppers, guns, wood working and anonymity.  His heroes are Clint Eastwood and Pops Hetfield.  Favorite movies are The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Easy Rider, Sling Blade, Pulp Fiction and Vanishing Point.

Kirk Lee Hammett

Born in San Francisco, California on November 18, 1962.  Kirk is 5'8" and weighs 134lbs.  He has brown hair and brown eyes.  Kirk play guitar and is known for his kick-ass, full-blown lead guitar and vocals.  Kirk married his longtime girlfreind Lani in Hawaii on January 31, 1998.  Kirk Likes  sushi , Mexican food, pasta and Indian food.  He likes to drink martinis, sky vodka and green tea.   Kirk drives several different vehicles which include Land Cruiser, Mountain bike, '55 Dodge Coronet and a '66 Mercedes Benz.  Kirk hates sports , but he like philosophy, H.P. Lovecraft, tattoos, piercing, collecting old horror-movie stuff, cigars and mountain biking.  Kirk's first concert was Day on the Green with the Eagles, Steve Miller, Heart and Foreigner.  He likes to listen to  Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, David Bowie and several other bands.  Some of his heroes are Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Jimi Hendrix and Diane Arbus.  Before   joining Metallica, Kirk played with Exodus.

In His Own Words:  "I'm a bit nutty, pretty cynical sometimes.  I can be an asshole at times, but I'm pretty personable, pretty easy going.  I'm a perfectionist and I'll drive myself crazy to achieve something."

Jason Curtis Newsted

Born on March 4, 1963 in Battle Creek, Michigan, Jason stands at 5'9" and weighs 150lbs.  He has brown/red hair and blue eyes.  He plays the bass and is known for making sure Metallica thumps more than ever.  He is currently single, but has been married.  Jason drives a '94 Land Cruiser, IBIS Titanium and Cyclocross bike.  Before joining Metallica , Jason played in  Flotsem & Jetsem.  He held jobs a s a burger-flipper, a
pizza-maker and a truck driver.  His favorite foods are Thai Curry, Frosted Flakes and bananas.  He likes to drink Bordeaux Barolo, barbaresco wines and Evian water.   His favorite teams are Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders.  He likes to mountain bike, play basketball and and spend time with Elizabeth.  A
few of his favorite bands are Black Sabbath, Kiss, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Machine Head, Sly and the Family Stone and Sepultura.  Jason's first concert was Ted Nugent in 1975.  His heroes are Gene Simmons, Al Pacino, B. B. King and his father.
