The Wings defeated the hot Syracuse club in a slugfest in front of 4,016 on a chilly night at Frontier. The Wings had five first inning runs. Those were spurred by Otanez's three run homer and Derek Lee had a two run shot in his first ever at bat as a Wings (first ever pitch, actually). Rosario also had a homerun for the Wings later on.
Curtis started for the Wings and earned the win, while Munoz pitched three solid innings, with his only blunder being a line drive solo homerun that he allowed in the ninth. Certainly a strong effort for the Wings, they will continue the series tomorrow at Frontier.
