The Wings dropped a tough one in extra innings on opening day. A capacity crowd of 12,188 showed up for the opener on a partly sunny day at Frontier. Doug Johns started for the Wings and pitched 4 2/3 solid innings, as he shed only one run. The Wings did fall behind late, 2-1, but Otanez hit a sacrifice fly ball to drive in Forbes to tie it at two.

The Wings squandered an oppurtunity to win the game in the bottom of the ninth, and in the tenth the Bisons tore Wings reliever Snyder apart. He gave up three runs (including two homers) in just 1/3 of an inning. The Wings couldn't muster up anything in the bottom of the inning, so that was the game.

The Wings finish the series with a 2:15 Easter game, the forecast looks great for it. Also, it is expected Monday that Jack Doyle will announce a plan to expand the roof at Frontier Field, so keep tuned for that.
