Rochester: 2 Richmond: 1

The Wings were involved in another pitching showdown against the Braves, but this time the Wings came out on top to the delight of the 7,917 fans at Frontier. Yan started and went eight innings allowing one run, three hits and striking out eleven. The Braves lone run came in the fifth, as Brad Tyler stole second and was then driven in via a single. Then Bullett struckout but advanced to first via a past ball and the catcher was unable to tag him. Then Tommy Davis came up and hit a homerun over the left field wall to the right of the bullpen to take the 2-1 lead. Then Steph came on in the ninth and got the Braves to go in order and struckout two and that was all.

Both teams had only three hits in the game, but the Wings continue to get strong pitching and made the most of their chances. Pawtucket did win, so the lead remains at 4 1/2 games. Tomorrow the Wings are back at it and Rodriguez will start, who has won three straight starts.
