Recently the Wings have been involved in mainly low scoring games against Richmond, but that all changed tonight as they beat Richmond 12-3 in front of 9,316 fans at Frontier. The Wings had a four run first, five run fifth and three run eighth which accounted for their scoring. Matos had two hits and an amazing five RBI's in the game. Berry, Waszgis, Wawruck and Bullett also had two hit games. Rodriguez started and pitched seven innings allowing three runs and Corbin came in and pitched two scoreless innings.
Waszgis had the lone homerun of the game. The PawSox lost so the Wings now hold a 5 1/2 game lead on first. Also, the Wings magic number for clinching a playoff spot (which is finishing in the top two spots in the division) is only 24! Not bad for late July! The Wings conclude the series against the Braves tomorrow and then Columbus will come into town for three.
