The Wings finally clinched the International Leagues's Eastern Division Crown (and will finish with the best record in the entire league) as they took a 2-1 decision at P&C Stadium in Syracuse. Tim Laker took advantage of poor Syracuse fielding in the second and would eventually score to give the Wings a 1-0 lead. Then Tim Laker came though yet again with a solo shot in the sixth to give the Wings a 2-0 lead.
The Wings got solid pitching again from Rodriguez as he pitched six innings allowing one run. Steph earned his fourteenth save pitching two perfect innings. The game ended on a fly ball to right field which Bullett took to give the Wings their league leading 21st crown. Hopefully the Wings can take another one from Syracuse tomorrow to give them some needed momentum going into the playoffs. The best of five divisional playoffs will start Wednesday in McCoy.
