The Wings just keep rolling along, with another win today. The Wings won their fifth in a row on a beautiful afternoon (finally) at Frontier in front of 6,733 fans. The Wings got on the board early in the first, but began to break things open in the fourth making it 4-1. Syracuse put another run on the board in the fifth making it 4-2, but the Wings truely put things away in the sixth with back to back homeruns from Laker and Clyburn. The score was now 6-2, and Syracuse chipped back into it with runs in the seventh and eighth.
Now in the top of the ninth Yan got himself back into trouble with two walks, and was then pulled for Rodney Steph. Steph got the three necessary outs though a run did come in and the Wings won plus he earned his first save. Also Carrara who started had a strong outing, pitching six innings and allowing only two runs taking the win. The Wings have won five in a row and eleven of thirteen!
Also another positive today came from a Syracuse player, former Wing Jeff Manto did hit a homerun today (luckily it did not cost the Wings the game) and lets hope Jeff breaks out of his slump (except against us). He received a good ovation after the homerun from the Rochester fans which was well deserved. Back to the Wings, now they will play their final game in the stand before entering a long road trip, lets see another good crowd out there tomorrow and lets hope the Wings enter the trip with a six game winning streak!
