The Wings suffer a third straight loss to start the season, and perhaps the most dissapointing one thus far. The Wings again scored first, with a run in the 4th and 5th inning. Former Wing Clay Bellinger once again did the Wings in with a 2 run homer in the 6th off reliever Brian Shouse. The Wings then regained the lead in the 8th off a PJ Forbes homer, but the Clippers scored 3 themselves in the 8th to take the lead and go on to win.

Carrara was the starting pitcher for the Wings, and pitched very well. He had several K's, but unfortunately the relievers pitched poorly with Shouse allowing the 2 run homer to tie and Williams being in during the 8th for the loss. The Wings have yet to get decent relief pitching in the first three games which is a concern, starting pitching was certainly very impressive today, it is just too bad it all went for nothing with weak relief.

The Wings will finish off the stand in Columbus in an afternoon game tommorrow and try to salvage a win before going off to Toledo for a four game series. The Mudhens have also started off the season on a weak note.
