The Wings got on the board first in the top of the third with two runs, but Scranton took the lead to stay with one in the third and three in the fourth to make it 4-2. Scranton put one more on the board during the fifth, but the Wings tried to stage a comeback in the eighth with a Willis Otanez homerun to come within one, but that would be all as Gomes earned the save.
On the bright side hopefully Otanez's homerun and his 2-4 day will help him break out of the slump, also the relievers (Steph and Corbin) combined for 3 1-3 four hit, scoreless innings. The Wings will try to rebound in the second game of the series in Scranton.
