The Wings opened the series against Syracuse at Frontier with an impressive 6-4 come from behind victory in front of 5,895 spectators. Syracuse struck first with three runs in the second, Mummau had a triple to bring in two of the runs. The Wings managed one run in the bottom of the inning to come within two. Syracuse extended their lead to three in the fourth with a rather unlikely play. On what should have been a basic single Bullett (he more than made up for this) tried to dive for the ball and missed so the ball rolled to the wall. Then when trying to relay the ball back in an error was made and the run scored. Syracuse had a 4-1 lead, but it would not last long.
The Wings scored two in the bottom of that inning to come within a run. The Wings then took a two run lead fifth. Rodriguez pitched six today (who must have had something like nine of ten K's) and then was replaced by Corbin who pitched two scoreless innings and Shouse came on in the ninth for another save. The Wings have now won four in a row and are an impressive fifteen games above .500. The Wings continue the series tomorrow against Syracuse which will be broadcasted live on the Empire Sports Network and Sport will be on hand to entertain the fans. Ramirez will make a spot start tomorrow.
