The Wings had one heck of a day all around on a beautiful day at Frontier in front of 9,535 fans. There were many stories to this game, but surprisingly the leading one may come from the defensive end as Yan who started was stellar! He took a perfect game into the eighth inning before he gave up a walk, and then gave up his first hit later in the inning. The game turned out to be a one hitter, quite a way for Yan to celebrate his birthday!
Now to the offensive end, pretty much everyone got in on things. The Wings scored in every inning but two, with Clyburn, Waszgis and Davis hitting homeruns. Davis went 4-4 and Forbes continued his hot play earning three walks and going 2-2 with five runs scored! The Wings had twelve hits and Charlotte pitching combined for ten walks. One heck of a day at the ballpark
The PawSox beat the Clippers, so the Wings remain a 1/2 game behind and their next series is in Pawtucket. Yan struck out twelve hitters, a season high, Bennett added one to that total in the ninth. The Wings during this three game series drew 30,555 fans which is an average of 10,185. For the year the Wings have drawn 219,628 in 34 dates for a average of 6,460 (2nd in the IL).
