Rochester: 5 Norfolk: 3

The Wings snapped their four game losing streak at home in front of 8,122 fans. After leaving two men on in both the first and second innings they finally capitalized in the third. Scott Bullett came through in the inning (and had to hits for the day) to help spur on three runs. The Wings then had men at second and third with no outs in the fourth, but Norfolk got out of it again. Norfolk then notched two runs in the fifth from a Greene homer to come within one. The Wings and Tides then exchanged runs in the bottom of the fifth and top of the sixth to make the score 4-3.

The Wings got out of a bases loaded one out jam, as Steph came in for Yan (7 1/3 innings, three runs, earned the win) and would then get the five outs needed for the save. The Wings added one run in the eighth for insurance, but as mentioned it would not be needed. The PawSox look like they are headed for a loss (as at the time I am writing this they are down by ten in the bottom of the ninth), so barring a miracle for the Sox the Wings will be within 2 1/2 games of first. The Wings finish the series with the Tides with an afternoon game and then the Clippers will come in for four games.
