The Wings completed the sweep of the Clippers at Frontier in front of 8,435 fans. The Wings got on the board first, as Ledesma continued his hot play with a solo homerun in the first inning. The Clippers then put two on the board in the second and third to take a 4-1 lead. The Wings then tied the game in the bottom of the third with three runs. The Wings then took a 5-4 lead in the fourth. The Clippers would then retake the lead, as they tied it in the seventh and a solo homerun by Cruz in the eighth gave them the lead. The Wings then scored three in the bottom of the inning to take a 8-6 lead. Columbus did hit another solo homer by Figga to come within one, but that would be all as Steph then shut the door on the Clippers as the Wings went on to win.
The PawSox lost to Richmond tonight, meaning the Wings are now within a half game of them. This effort by the Wings is especially impressive when you consider how much they struggled in Columbus with the opening four games of the year going 1-3. Needless to say, a four game sweep was probably sweet revenge for that and for that Governors Cup series last year! The Wings now hit to the road to play the Red Barons.
