The Wings took the first game of the series in Scranton by the score of 9-6 in front of 9,864 fans. Doug Johns started his first game for the Wings, after a tough first inning, allowing four runs, he recovered quite nicely allowing five runs in seven innings total. The Wings received a superb effort from Jim Wawruck going 4-6 with a RBI. Matos also went 3-5 and Tommy Davis had a homerun and these efforts helped lead the Wings to the comeback victory over the Red Barons.

Archie Corbin earned his second save, as he struck out all three batters he faced. The Wings have extended their winning streak to five games and the PawSox defeated the Tides 8-1 tonight, so the Pawtucket lead remains at a half game.
