The Rochester Red Wings announced that they had another healthy year financially as they turned a profit of $576,000. The Wings managed to turn this profit despite very poor weather and a team that never truly contended. Wings management should be commended for their efforts, hopefully they will get some help from the team on the field next year.
The Wings will again be keeping the same ticket prices, the Wings have yet to increase their prices since moving into Frontier Field.
Andy Etchebarren will replace Marv Foley as Manager for the 2001 season. Etchebarren managed the AA Bowie BaySox previously. Bowie had a mediocre season, although most of the Orioles farm system did also, so it isn't fair to judge him on that. He has stated that youth will play, although one can only hope that some veteran leadership is on the club this season, as it has been sorely missed for a while.
In other news, the Wings have lost Minor to Montreal. Meanwhile, Buffalo picked up Karim Garcia. The Orioles have some work to do throughout their system to avoid another all around long year for the organization.
