The Wings had the bats going in game one of the championship, as they took the game 11-6 in front of a meager crowd of 1,691 in Columbus. The Wings got on Frank Lankford quickly as he was pulled in the fourth which turned out to be a five run inning. The big blow was Tim Laker's three run double. Doug Johns started and while it was a far cry from his outing in Pawtucket he earned the win improving to 2-0 in the playoff season and 4-1 overall.
Forbes, Matos, Clyburn, Laker and Bullett all had two his efforts to spur the win. The Wings continue the series tonight with the final game at Cooper before returning home.
