The Wings dropped the second game of the Governors Cup finals in Columbus allowing the Clippers to even up the series on a rainy night in front of another tiny paid crowd of just over 1,200 at Cooper. Yan started the game and took the loss, as he has been in both of the Wings postseason loses. He allowed five runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. The Wings did cut the lead to 5-3, but Columbus put three on the board late and the Wings blundered a bases loaded chance in the eighth. The Wings put one on the board in the ninth, but that was all.
Danny Clyburn did homer for the Wings in a losing effort. The Wings left eleven on base, obviously key in the loss. The Wings still reached their goal of a split as they return home Thursday for games 3, 4 and 5 if needed (and this occurs Thurs-Sat, there is no off day Friday).
