It really is important to keep in touch with the current philosophy on how we should be officiating those matches on Saturday. You benefit yourself and the children you serve when you are up to date with current officiating trends.
A good way to do that if there are no clinics available is to get assessments. Either formal or informal ones. Get feedback from your fellow referees. We never really learn everything there is to know about officiating. I still pick up tips and hear some pretty weird game scenarios when talking to my fellow referees. Talking these situations out with fellow referees really help to open your eyes to the real problems that need to be addressed.
We were very encouraged to have 30 of you come out and go for your Area badge over the past weekend. Lets keep up the trend and if you want more clinics - bug your Regional Referee Adminstrator. If that person cannot provide the clinics then maybe Area staff can get involved and put on additional clinics.
I still need you to e-mail me some game situations that you want some
feedback on. This can only work if you participate..
See you out on the pitch,
PS. This will be a weekly section where I talk about experiences
relating to soccer officiating. Please feel free to e-mail me with suggestions
for topics you would like me to cover.
