COUNTY WORK HARD FOR A WIN
Dunfermline U-18 1; ROSS COUNTY U-18 2

The Ross County Under-18 players continued their promising start to the season with a hard fought victory at Dunfermline. Connor GETHINS gave County the lead on the 30 minute mark when he drove forward and from 20 yards beat the 'keeper with a fine left foot drive.

Two minutes into the second half, Dunfermline equalised but in the 55th minute John McKAY put County back in front when he made progress down the left, played a one-two, and placed the ball neatly past the 'keeper.

Ten minutes later, substitute Scott Nicholl cut inside from the right, evaded a tackle inside the box and scored for County to stretch the lead to 3-1.

Dunfermline hit back in the 75th minute, when they hit the ball home from a free kick. In the closing stages Dunfermline went all out for the equaliser but the County defence held strong.

Ross County U-18 XI: Shearer; Crilly, J McKay, Wilson, Bolochoweckyj, Guild, McAskill (Nicholl), Blackley, Gethins (Duncanson), Jack and Young. Unused Subs: C McKay and Keldie.
