With Ross County's first team dumping Hearts out of the CIS League Cup earlier in the week, the Edinburgh side's Under-18s made sure the County youngsters did not inflict a second defeat in a week on their club.
Ross County's Under-18s were unable to maintain their recent good form and eventuially went down 0-4 at home to their opponents from Tynecastle.
Hearts scored early on and extended their lead when County 'keeper Shearer punched a corner into his own net.
Despite some tactical alterations in the second half, County just could not provide a threat and Hearts added two further goals for a comfortable win.
Ross County U-18 XI: Shearer; Guild, Bolochoweckyj, Wilson, J McKay (Nicholl), Crilly, Blackley, Keldie (Jack), Young, Gethins (McAskill) and Duncanson. Unused Sub: C McKay.
