 SYNOPSIS

Trevor Blackburn (Andras Jones) is a man with no memory of his past - haunted by nightmares of a supernatural ritual and an ancient book of arcane black magic. Awakening from a coma, Trevor finds himself under the care of the darkly charismatic Dr. Ek (Jeffrey Combs) who informs Trevor that he has been committed to Ek's sanitarium for the sacrificial murder of his fiancée.

Trevor is sent to a halfway house overseen by Dr. Abbey Thalama (Wendy Robie). The group of recovering psychotics in the house includes Ronald (Jerry Hauck), whose personality is torn between his true self and an alligator hand puppet; Amy (Shannon Hart Cleary), a flirty, nervous young woman who draws the same childlike picture over and over; Liz (Nancy Wolfe), a woman who believes that her compulsive writing creates the world as she writes it; and Douglas (Seth Green), who, aside from his eccentricities, seems to be almost normal. However, it's not his fellow residents that begin to upset Trevor. It's his dreams.

Reality and fantasy converge in Trevor's nightmares - nightmares of his own brain surgery and a strange trunk locked in the attic that conceals the entrance to a mystical, infinite space. As Trevor's grip on reality slips, his fellow residents are being murdered and Trevor is the prime suspect. Trevor's paranoia increases as the body count rises and his dead fiancée, Faith (Beth Bates), reappears to him in his waking life and threatens to possess a fellow resident and kill him. Behind it all, Dr. Ek, assisted and observed by the visiting Dr. Coffee (Ted Raimi), watches his experiment. To Dr. Coffee's horror, Dr. Ek continues to plot Trevor's fate -- driving his patient to the brink of insanity.

The Attic Expeditions is a daring independent film which takes its audience on a wild, disquieting journey into the darkest reaches of a mind on the brink of madness.
