A Twisted View

Written by: S. Wilhelmina Feenster

This story is dedicated to all the storylines I've learned about over the past 10 years on "One Life To Live."

NOTE: Each scene is a different storyline.

Scene 1 - Somewhere on a Cruise Ship in the South Pacific

Roxy sat on the main deck of the ship sipping margaritas and smoking a cigerette.

Roxy: [smiling] This is the life I always deserved. The only thing I'm missing is my hubby--and Elvis. [sighs] No Rex and no Jessica and Natalie running around smacking my face and saying I ain't their mother.
Waiter: Another margarita, Mrs. Holden?
Roxy: Yeah, and bring some more of those little umbrellas.
Waiter: Yes ma'am.

Roxy sat back and relaxed. She began to hear far off cries. Getting up from her chair, she looked around. She glanced out in the water and saw only a deserted island. Roxy was too drunk to notice Téa and Ross signaling for help.

Roxy: [to herself] If I weren't on vacation---
Waiter: Mrs. Holden, your drink. [places her drink beside her chair] Would you care for anything else?
Roxy: Yeah. How about some ear plugs?

On the island...

Téa: Do you think anyone heard us?
Ross: I hope so. If Manning made it back to Llanview alive--
Téa: Do you think he'll send us help?
Ross: Knowing Manning, I wouldn't count on it.

Scene 2 - Luna's Accident at the Sweetwater Rodeo

Luna found out that Max was gambling at the carnival in Sweetwater, Texas, and was ready to go back to Llanview. Al didn't want her to go, so he ran away from her. Lindsay Rappaport was driving extremely fast down the road.

Lindsay: [yelling] I'm free! I'm finally free!

Al ran out of the Sweetwater Rodeo tent and into the street. Luna noticed a speeding car heading straight for him.

Lindsay: [squinting] Is that Nora? [laughs] Looks like Nora. I should have run over her when I had the chance. And I think this is it. [steps on gas]

On the other side of the road, Blair appeared. She waved her arms at Lindsay to stop.

Blair: [yelling in her Kentucky twang] Wait, Lindsay! This is my scene! My car! Let me hit Luna!

Luna: Al, stop! You're going to get hit by that car!
Al: Leave me alone, Luna!

Lindsay: [sticking her head out the window] I'll get you, Nora! [laughs vengefully]

Lindsay ran over Luna and Al ran all the way to Statesville carrying a fist full of wild flowers.

Scene 3 - Llanfair

Jen went to Llanfair to visit Natalie and to rub her pregancy in her face--again.

Jen: I'm going to make sure Natalie pays for what she did. [feels a hand on her shoulder and turns around]
Marcie: Hi, Jen.
Jen: What are you doing here?
Marcie: Well, I was driving past here and saw your car.
Jen: So you were following me.
Marcie: No, never. I mean--
Jen: Whatever. It doesn't matter anymore.
Marcie: You're so pretty.
Jen: Do you think I'm getting too fat?
Marcie: No, but you're welcome to borrow my clothes. That's what friends do.

Bo entered.

Bo: Hello, Jen.
Jen: Hi.
Bo: What are you doing here?
Jen: I've come to see my maid of honor. Natalie has really been a great friend to me and Cristian.
Bo: That's good. [two familiar arms wrapped around his waist]
Gabrielle: I couldn't stand to be away from you any longer.
Bo: [turns around and smiles] I'm glad you came.

Asa hid in the bushes waiting to get a clean shot of Gabrielle.

Asa: [to himself] That woman was planning my funeral, so now it's my turn to plan hers. [he aimed his riffle at her] That harlet is going to get exactly what she deserves.

Gabrielle: [smiles] Oh, Bo. One day we'll be planning our wedding.
Bo: Whoa, whoa. We just had our first date.
Gabrielle: Oh. You don't want to marry me?
Bo: I didn't say that.
Gabrielle: Then what are you saying?
Bo: I'm saying that I'm happy the way things are.
Gabrielle: [smiling] Are you?
Bo: Yes. [kisses her]
Gabrielle: Are you sure enough about our relationship to go on another date?
Bo: [smiling] Absolutely.

Asa: [from the bushes] The hell you are!

Bo: Did you hear something?

Suddenly, the riffle went off. Bo pushed Gabrielle to the ground while Jen stood there deciding whether to run or hide behind Marcie. Before her decission was final, Jen was hit and fell to the ground. Marcie was devastated.

Marcie: Oh, my God, Jen! I should have taken that bullet.
Jen: [looking up at her] You're damn right.
Marcie: Am I still your friend?
Jen: Can you promise me that you'll keep Natalie away from Cristian?
Marcie: Oh, yes. You're the most beautiful girl at school. I'd do anything for you.
Jen: Good.

Scene 4 - Asa's Funeral

Mourners gathered at the church to remember Asa Buchahan. Gabrielle sat up in front next to Bo with her legs crossed. Max was directly behind her and Nora sat next to him looking as if she were about to burst out laughing.

Voice Over: The role of Andrew Carpenter will be played today by Father Guido Sarducci.

Ben: [to Viki] I loved him on "Saturday Night Live."
Viki: [smiles] Yes, we know.

Father Guido: Hello and welcome to the sevice. We are here today to pay respects to Asa Buchanan. Those of you can see that I am not Father Andrew Carpenter. I'm much better looking. [brief pause] Anyways, Father Tony Malone couldn't make it either because he's visiting two little sick boys in California. [Gabrielle smiles] Okay, does anyone want to say anything about this man?

Bo got up and went to the podium. While he talked, the doors opened and Al came in with a broom.

Max's mind went off Bo and on to Gabrielle. He stared at her back and could smell her sweet perfume.

Max: [thinking to himself] After this service, I'm taking Gabrielle home with me and making passionate love to her.

Gabrielle was in a "Bo" trance. Her eyes never left him as she watched him talk about his pa.

Gabrielle: [thinking to herself] Oh, Bo. I'm so sorry. [sighs] How can I sit here and mourn someone that I despise? And if Max Holden touches my leg one more time-- [he touches her leg and she turns around and smacks him]

Bo: Gabrielle, do you have anything to say?
Gabrielle: [thinking to herself] Does he really have to give me the "Bo" look?
Max: [touching his hand to his soore cheek and thinking to himself] God, she turns me on. She always knew exactly where to smack me.
Gabrielle: I'm too upset to say anything.
Bo: How about you, Max?
Max: [thinking to himself] Hmm. If I stepped up to the podium, would I be able to see down Gabrielle's dress?

Al swept a little ways down the aisle and stopped. Starr looked at him.

Starr: Mom, why does Al have a broom?
Blair: It's probably for his mom to get home on.

Renee stepped up to the podium and talked everyone's ear off about Asa. Father Guido tried to stay awake along with the rest of Llanview.

When the service ended, Gabrielle stood up, turned around, and looked at Max, who smiled at her.

Max: [thinking to himself] I wonder if she had the same idea I did? If so, then I better go out and buy plenty of strawberries and whipped cream.

Gabrielle almost said something, but didn't when she saw Bo look at her. She grabbed her purse and left.

Max: [giving a look] What?

The End
