The office was unusually quiet as Wesley walked through the door. Normally Cordelia would be sat at her desk, talking on the phone but she wasn't there. No-one was. No Angel or Cordelia. Wesley stopped and took a moment to study the room, it was dimly lit. It looked exactly the way they had left it last night. This was very strange, something was wrong. Just where was Cordelia? It didn't surprise him that the vampire wasn't around. It was still early for him. It was the missing seer that was causing him concern.

He stepped further into the room and placed his jacket down on Cordelia's desk. He walked into Angel's office. No signs of life. Angel obviously wasn't there. He returned to the main office. He was about to hang his jacket up when he noticed the light flashing on the answer machine. Maybe that held the answers he needed. Only one way to find out. He pressed play.

"You have one new message. Message one."

"Hey Wesley, It's Cordelia. I'm not coming into the office today. I'll probably be back tomorrow but I don't know. I let you know okay."

The message stopped.

That was most odd and sounded unlike Cordelia. Something was up. With no signs of Angel making an appearance anytime soon, Wesley decided to pay Cordelia a visit.

He picked up his jacket and exited the office.

Outside Cordelia's Apartment Door

Wesley knocked sharply. No reply.

He knocked again. Still no reply.

"Cordelia?" Wesley said softly. Again there was no reply. "Cordelia," Wesley repeated, a little louder this time.

"Wesley?" Cordelia shouted through the door.

"Yes Cordelia, it's me. Can you open the door please?" Wesley asked.

"I took the day off, I left a message. Go listen to that," Cordelia called out.

"I've already heard it thank you. That's why I'm here. I'm worried about you," he replied.

"That's sweet but I'm fine," Cordelia said, she was now the other side of the door and didn't have to yell for the ex watcher to hear her.

"I'd like to be the judge of that," Wesley said.

"Fine, I'll open the door," Cordy replied. "Dennis can you open the door!"

The door opened slowly.

"See, I'm fine," Cordelia told him, waving her arms wildly in the air.

"Have you been drinking?" Wesley asked, the strong smell of alcohol hit him as he entered the room.

"No," Cordelia lied, trying to hide the bottle of vodka she had in her hand behind her back.

"What's that behind your back then?" Wesley inquired, clearly not impressed with her attempt of a cover up.

"What's it to you if I have been drinking, you're not my keeper," the seer stated.

"I care about you, of course I'm going to be concerned when you don't turn up for work and I find you drinking at noon on a weekday," Wesley replied. "What's happened?"

"Nothing, I just realised how much my life sucks," Cordelia stated.

"How so?" Wesley asked. He turned around and closed the door. He gently took hold of Cordelia's arm and led her towards the couch. They both sat down.

"I'm stuck here in LA, my only friends are a vampire with a soul, a ghost and you," Cordelia replied.

"I see I rank highly your friend's list," Wesley said.

"That wasn't in order," Cordy told him. "Is Angel back from the case yet? Is that why you came over? Did he send you?"

"Angel? No, he didn't send me. I haven't seen him today. I presumed he was still asleep," Wes said.

"No, I rang first thing this morning, he had a walk in client, this morning something about an emergency. I think I woke him up." Cordelia giggled slightly.

"I take it he took the sewer route?" Wesley asked.

"Well duh!" Cordelia replied.

"Okay, I admit, stupid question," Wesley conceded.

"You can say that again," Cordelia said. "Thanks for coming over, but as you can see I'm fine so you can go now."

"I'm not leaving you," Wesley told her. "Not until I see you're fine for myself."

"In that case do you want a drink because I'm having another," Cordelia replied.

"Cordelia it's just turned noon, I'm not drinking alcohol now," Wesley said.

"Your loss," Cordelia replied, She picked up the glass that was by her feet and started to open the bottle. She had a little difficulty in getting the top off but was soon pouring herself a double.

"I don't think that's a good idea," he told her.

"I think it's a great idea," Cordelia replied.

"So are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Wesley inquired again.

"I already told you my life sucks," Cordy stated.

"That's no reason to suddenly take the day off work and start drinking," Wesley reason.

Cordelia simply shrugged in reply.

"Cordy, why won't you tell me what's really wrong? I want to help you,"

"Have a drink and I'll tell you," Cordelia replied.

"I most certainly won't have a drink," Wesley stated.

"Oh come one Wesley, don't be such a stick in the mud," Cordy said.

"I'm not," Wesley defended.

"Well, have a drink then. Dennis can you get Wes a glass please?" Cordelia shouted.

Moments later a glass floated into the room.

"Thanks Dennis," Cordelia said happily.

"Yeah, thank you Dennis," Wesley said, not bothering to hide the sarcasm in his voice.

Cordelia poured Wesley a rather large volume of vodka into his glass. "There ya go."

"Thank you," he replied.

Several drinks later.

"So, you see, nobody wants me," Cordelia said.

"That's not true," Wesley replied. "I'm sure there are plenty of nice young men out there just wanted for the opportunity to take out someone as lovely as yourself."

"You think I'm lovely?" Cordelia asked, her eyes went wide.

"Absolutely," Wesley paused for a moment. "I always have."

"That's just the booze talking now," Cordelia muttered.

"It's not," Wesley told her.

"Prove it," Cordelia replied. She leaned forward and took his glass from his hand.

"I intend to." Wesley moved closer to her and kissed her. Cordelia wasn't expecting it and froze for a moment. The reality of the situation soon kicked in. Wesley was kissing her and it wasn't half bad. Not like their first attempt way back in Sunnydale. That was a total disaster. The kiss they had shared when Wesley had first turned up LA wasn't that great either but this? This was definitely a huge improvement.

Cordelia broke off the kiss.

"Kissing is fine, I'm not worrying about that, it's what comes next. After what happened last time, I'm not sure I want to go further with anyone again so soon."

"You just need to get back on the horse," Wesley told her. "What happened to you was terrible but not all men are like Wilson. Myself for example."

The ex watcher grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her off the couch gently. He'd had an idea.

"Where are we going?" Cordelia asked. She giggled loudly as he led her towards the bedroom.

"We're getting you back on that horse," Wesley replied.

"You and me?" Cordelia asked.

Wesley nodded as they entered her bedroom, closing the door behind them.

Cordelia flopped down onto the bed.

"You're so beautiful," Wesley slurred as he scooted onto the bed. He rolled on top of her, straddling her quickly. He closed the gap between them, moving in close to kiss her. Softly and slowly at first, he suddenly quickened the pace, kissing her fast and furious. She bought her hands up around his neck pulling him closer to her. After a few moments he broke the kiss off, but continued to kiss her, placing a trail butterfly kisses along her jaw. Cordelia moaned softly as he continued on his exploration of her jaw and neck. He's hand reached downwards and pulled at the bottom of Cordelia's blue tank top. He began to pull it slowly upwards. Cordy lifted her head of the pillow, assisting him with his task of undressing her.

It wasn't long before both of them were naked. Wesley had reached into his wallet and pulled out the protection they needed to make sure that getting Cordelia back on the horse didn't leave her in the same situation as last time. Not that Wesley was in the business of impregnating woman with demon spawn.

She involuntary bucked her hips as his hand brushed against her belly. He wasn't trying to take his time, take things slowly but his arousal was growing with every touch and taste of her skin.

"Are you ready?" he asked, his voice was filled with lust and want. He had been dreaming about his moment for a long time but never actually thought it would come true.

"I am," her voice was equally as husky as his. She had always found the ex watcher attractive, he was a good looking man. The whole failed kiss had put a hault to any feelings she had started to develop for him. Feelings that were being awakened again.

He entered her slowly, ceasing all movements as her inner muscles clamped around his cock. He started to move slowly at first, his thrusts getting quicker and deeper every time. Cordelia wrapped her arms around his back, pulling him closer to her. She started to match his thrusts with her own. He returned to kissing her again as their rhythm settled.

"Wesley," Cordelia almost whispered. Her hands were exploring each inch of his back. She was close to slipping over the edge, a wave of pleasure was building up inside of her. The need for release was increasing with every buck of her hips.

Wesley was close to his own release, he could feel her orgasm approaching, getting ever closer.

"Oh god" Cordelia called out, she dug her nails into his back as she came. This cause Wesley to follow her over the edge. He stilled, collapsing gently on top of her for a moment before he rolled over to the side. she picked up his hand, taking it in her own, for a few seconds they just laid still, both covered a fine film of sweat before they drifted off to sleep.

Angel's office. The next morning.

Angel sat alone wondering if either Wesley or Cordelia would be coming in today. Neither had been around yesterday when he'd returned from the case. He had heard Cordelia message on the machine but that didn't explain where Wesley was. He didn't have wonder long as the door opened and a happy looking Cordelia and Wesley entered.

"Where have you been?" Angel asked.

"Getting Cordelia back on the horse," Wesley admitted.

"You've been horse riding?" the vampire asked cluelessly. "I'm good at riding a horse."

Cordelia giggled and Wesley chuckled.

"What?" Angel asked clearly confused.
