"Clash of the Titans" By Jorge Martinez

Prometheus and the young girl Dania watch a magical pool from the inside of a dark cave. They see a group of Avengers in Hades battling undead soldiers. At the same time they see another group of Avengers ready to confront Ares and a legion of soldiers.

DANIA: Prometheus what is going to happen? Why can't you save them?

PROMETHEUS: Soon we will join the fray. Our task is an important one.

DANIA: Are we going to help Hercules?

PROMETHEUS: Yes.

DANIA: What about the Black Knight, Sersi and the others on Olympus?

PROMETHEUS: I am afriad they are on their own.

A shadow is cast on both of them. A large powerful man has walked into the cave.

PROMETHEUS: Do not be scared child. This is my brother. His name is Atlas.

ATLAS: Hello little one.

DANIA: Hello.

PROMETHEUS: He will join us in our journey.

DANIA: Is he going to help?

PROMETHEUS: His responsibility is too protect us. Chosen by Hercules himself. But there is another who will assist us within Hades.

The three of them walk out of the cave.

HADES

A powerful group of beings have invaded the dark realm known as Hades. They are Hercules, Photon, Gilgamesh, Firelord, Starfox, and the mighty Thor. Photon and Firelord have taken to the air while the others battle on the ground. They face thousands of dead troops and they seem to be winning.

THOR: I see the forces of Hela and Seth have joined that of Pluto's. No matter we shall crush them all.

GILGAMESH: How fair ye Eros?

STARFOX: I have never fought against so many before!

PHOTON:(to self) Eros is overwhelmed. We might have to change the plans a bit. Infact, it might work to our advantage.

Hercules is unstoppable. Each punch knocks down a dozen soldiers. Their weapons cause him no harm. He easily picks them up in masses and flings them aside.

HERCULES: None can stop the son of Zeus! None!

THOR:(to self) I have never seen Hercules so possessed! His strength seems to have grown.

PHOTON:(to self) We are turning them back! It's now or never. I hope Hercules can snap out of his fervor to execute the plan.

PHOTON: Firelord! Things have changed! You stay here with Thor and Gilgamesh.

FIRELORD: It would be my pleasure.

PHOTON:(shouting) Eros! Grab Hercules and follow me!

STARFOX:(to self) Monica notices I am barely holding my own against these creatures.

Starfox flies towards Hercules. He plucks him out of the battle.

HERCULES: Eros! What art thou...

STARFOX: We are going to Tartarus old friend.

HERCULES: Aye, so be it!

In the hall of Pluto an interested group individuals watch the battle. Pluto, Mephisto, Hela, and Seth are among them.

PLUTO: Aye? What is this? Where art they going?

MEPHISTO: Where do you think? They are going to Tartarus to free the Olympians for help.

HELA: Wilt we be able to handle the Avengers and Olympians at once?

SETH: There is little we can't handle.

PLUTO: It is of little importance Zeus isn't among those imprisoned there. Still, Cerberus, Thanatos, Hypnos follow Hercules to Tartarus and welcome him.

OLYMPUS: The Meeting Hall

Namor and She Hulk stand ready to battle. Behind them are the Black Knight, Sersi, and Dionysus. They all face Ares and his troops which consist of Eris, Deimos, Phobos, Enyo and a legion of undead soldiers.

ARES: Ha! Namor thou doesn't stand a chance!

NAMOR: Ares, always the coward I see. The moment Hercules and Thor leave you would arrive.

ARES: The coward stands behind you! My dear brother Dionysus. Some believed it might be thee who would replace Zeus! Thou didst not even fight with your brethren!

NAMOR:(to self) I doubt we can defeat Ares! I shall bid my time and let him talk because he likes too. Perhaps Sersi can contact the others.

HADES

Thor, Firelord, and Gilgamesh continue to battle the unholy horde. With three of their allies gone they do not fair as well.

FIRELORD: Thor! Their waves are unending!

THOR: Continue to fight Firelord! All that hath been tested hath been my endurance thus far!

GILGAMESH: Our role is simply to handle these creatures! It is easy enough! We can keep this up for years if need be!

The crowd of soldiers dwindle. Their ranks seem to lessen.

GILGAMESH: Are they retreating so soon?

THOR: No, it seems they are making room? Two more enter the fray! Over there! Hela's own man servants Ganglati and Ganglot! Do not underestimate them!

FIRELORD: They should do well to fear Firelord!

Firelord blasts both of them and they go down. When he gets in close they grab him and begin to pummel him.

THOR: I believe Firelord is attempting to keep them occupied.

GILGAMESH: Aye, he is doing a good job!

Meanwhile, the trio of Photon, Hercules, and Starfox near Tartarus with no opposition.

HERCULES: These are the gates to Tartarus. Becareful, Avengers. Pluto has dangerous guards behind this point. They are meant to watch over the Titans themselves.

A large ugly man arrives with two beautiful gray winged men. The large one is Cerberus guardian of Hades. The winged men are Thanatos and Hypnos sons of the Night. The brothers draw their swords.

CERBERUS: It will not be that easy Hercules! Behind those gates stand the Hecatoncheires! The guards of Tartarus allied with their former prisoners the Titans themselves!

HERCULES: It matters little Cereberus! All that stand before shall fall.

THANATOS: Look at what a pretty companion Hercules has brought to us!

HYPNOS: Yes, so full of life is he! Greetings mortal we are Hypnos and Thanatos! We are your death!

STARFOX: I am far from mortal creatures! I am the brother of Thanos! I am sure in these circles you have heard of him and fear him!

The brothers stop smiling. They prepare for the battle.

THANATOS: Eros of Titan! We are angels of death! We serve the same mistress as your brother!

PHOTON: Enough!

Photon transforms into pure light and attacks Hypnos! He blocks her with his blade and she ricochets off.

PHOTON: What? How?

HERCULES: Their swords can repel thee Monica! May I suggest another tactic? Blind them.

Monica emits a radiant light while Starfox and Hercules close their eyes. The demons are all blinded.

CERBERUS: Damn you, Hercules!

The angels of death swing their swords wildly. Eros and Monica make quick work of them. While Hercules hits Cerberus so hard he sends him flying back into the battle. He lands dead.

HERCULES: Now we enter Tartarus.

HADES: The Elysian Fields

There is another part of Hades. It is a paradise. As wicked and tormenting as is Tartarus this is a place of beauty. A place heroes are rewarded for their noble lives. Prometheus, Dania and Atlas enter while Pluto is distracted with the Avengers.

DANIA: This is a pretty place. Not like that river or the ferryman.

PROMETHEUS: Yes, it is pretty. It is called Elysium.

ATLAS: I envy these heroes.

A young man walks towards the trio. His name is Hylas.

HYLAS: Prometheus? What is happening in Hades? Is there trouble? And who is this beautiful little child?

PROMETHEUS: Still chasing young maidens Hylas? She is the daughter of your former and greatest ally.

HYLAS: Hercules! Is he in Hades?

PROMTHEUS: Aye. In Tartarus rescuing the other Olympians.

HYLAS: Does he need my help?

PROMETHEUS: Yes, good Hylas. Please call all the others. His old friends Jason, Telamon, Theseus, Castor, Pollux, Perseus and the rest! We need all the heroes we can!

HYLAS: Then thou hath come to the right place! Here thou wilt find the greatest heroes of all time!

PROMETHEUS: I know.

PLUTO'S HALL

PLUTO: Hercules has defeated my agents. But he will find Tartarus much more difficult.

MEPHISTO: How so?

PLUTO: I have the mightiest of my guards there as well as the Titans who are not fond of Hercules.

The ferryman Charon enters. He walks towards Pluto. The demon whispers something in his master's ear.

PLUTO: What?! Why didn't you inform me earlier!

SETH: What has happened Pluto?

PLUTO: Prometheus has rallied all the heroes in Elysium! They are coming here!

MEPHISTO: Such a shame. Ironic isn't it. The mortals come to save the gods. Or is it to kill their gods? I shall return to my own plane now.

PLUTO: Thou wilt leave me now! These are nothing but dead heroes!

MEPHISTO: I was merely an observer. I care not what happens here. My place in the new order is secure.

SETH: How can you say that! Your own son Blackheart plots your demise constantly.

MEPHISTO: It is how he shows his love.

Mephisto disappears. Pluto somberly looks over at his remaining counterparts.

SETH: I shall take my troops back with me as well. It seems you cannot escape your destiny!

PLUTO: None of us will Seth.

HELA: I still hath hope. Ragnarok is coming and I must join my brothers!

Hela and Seth both disappear. Seth's troops and Hela's manservants are instantly gone from the battlefield. Thor, Gilgamesh, and the Firelord face only Pluto's soldiers.

PLUTO: I shall not go down without a fight! I must call back the legion I gave Ares!

OLYMPUS

Namor's strategy of stalling has failed. The battle has been joined. Namor, She Hulk, Dionysus, Sersi and the Black Knight all do battle against a legion from Hades. Ares and his companions watch from afar. The battle will soon be over.

NAMOR: Sersi, we have to retreat! Dionysus seems wounded badly! We don't have much time.

SERSI: Namor, I will think of .....what?

All the demon soldiers stop fighting.

ARES: Why dost thou stop! Continue!

Ares rides his horse into the battle. He yells at the troops to no avail. Suddenly, they all disappear.

ARES: No! No....

Namor flies to Ares and delivers a mighty blow knocking the god off his horse.

NAMOR: Yes! Avengers Assemble!

BLACK KNIGHT: Sersi tend to Dionysus' wounds!

The Black Knight and She Hulk join Namor. Sersi takes Dionysus back into the meeting hall.

DIONYSUS: Let me die. I deserve it. I deserted Athena and the others.

SERSI: Hush! A draft dodger can still become president Bacchus. Let me use my powers on your wound.

As Sersi uses her awesome transmutation powers on Dionysus something happens. His own inner energies begin to awaken. Sersi is overwhelmed! A transformation is taking place. Dionysus is much more than healed. He has been rejuvenated. A new Dionysus stands in his place. A younger, stronger, prettier god with hair black as coal.

TARTARUS

Hercules leads Photon and Starfox through the mysterious Tartarus. They hear many voices crying in pain and sadness. Photon has never known such fear.

PHOTON:(to self) This is much worse than facing Thanos on that moon! Even in light form I can feel my insides trembling.

Starfox hasn't said a word since they entered the gates. He has picked up a sword from one of his previous opponents. The trio is by ambushed six individuals. The demonic brothers and primary guards of Tartarus Cottus, Briareus, and Gyges. The other three are the old Titans known as Oceanus, Crius, and Coeus. Hercules hopes his friends do no notice his fear.

HERCULES: Beware Avengers! The demon guardsmen strength is only matched by mine and their speed by Hermes! The other old men have much hate in them as well.

OCEANUS: We have waited a long time for revenge Heracles!

CRIUS: If not for thee we could have defeated the Olympians eons ago!

COEUS: Thou and thy friends wilt die in Tartarus!
