The Democratic version of the Patients Bill of Rights passed in the Senate despite dozens of GOP attempts to derail it. Now, finally, real reform is on the way, if Bush doesn't veto. Furthermore, the House is telling Bush not to drill. Not in National Monuments, not in the Gulf of Mexico and not in the Great Lakes, and Bush's approval ratings are dropping every month. I'm working for the Texas Fair Trade Coalition this summer. In Dallas, we're targeting Eddie Bernice Johnson. Please contact her, and urge her to oppose "Fast Track" authority for Bush. TTP-Dallas joins Millions nationwide praising the decision of Sen. Jim Jeffords (I-VT) to defect from the GOP. This is evidence of the divisiveness of the conservative, Bush administration. This move gives Democrats a Senate majority! This means that ultra-conservative legislation and judges can now be stopped in Senate committees. We should all be thankful for both Sen. Jefford's decision and the strong leadership of Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle. Thank Sen. 12/13 - Thank you Justice Stevens. Your honorable dissent conveys our feelings perfectly: "Although we may never know with complete certainty the identity of the winner of this year's presidential election, the identity of the loser is perfectly clear. It is the nation's confidence in the judge as an impartial guardian of the rule of law" -Justice Stevens 12/09 - Kudos to the Florida Supreme Court for ruling that All Votes Count - and ordering a recount of the 43,000 "undervotes".
