One Day You'll be a Man
Darling baby, our pride and joy,
I hold you close, my little boy.
One day you will be a man,
so let me cuddle you while I can.
Your little hand grips mine tight,
while you fight sleep with all your might.
But I don't mind these wakeful hours,
this time together that's all ours.
When you're a man I'll hold your child,
and remember this with a gentle smile.
Because time goes by so terribly fast,
let's take this time and make it last.
Boy Angels
I know there are boy angels,
I see one every day.
He gives me a hug
and kisses my cheek,
and then he runs to play.
From his toothless smile
to his skinned up knees,
he's my little angel,
sweet as you please.
God's Dream
God made a world out of His dreams,
of magic mountains, oceans & streams.
Praries and plains and wooded land, then paused and thought,
"I need someone to stand on top of the mountains, to conquer the sea,
explore the plains and climb the trees, someone to start out small and
grow sturdy, strong like a tree and so.....
He created Boys, full of spirit and fun to explore and conquer,
to romp and run with dirty faces, banged up chins,
with courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He'd begun, He surely said,
"That's a job well done."
Sugar Cookie Cowboy
by LaVerne P. Larson
My "sugar cookie cowboy"
Is a little lad of three
Who rides a bucking rocking horse
And means the world to me.
From morning until evening
He frolicks to and fro,
A merry twinkle in his eye
And rosy cheeks aglow.
His hair is always tousled,
And a smile lights up his face
While echoes of his laughter
Spread sunshine every place.
He wears a western outfit
And even totes a gun.
His world of make-believe
Is filled with happy, childlike fun.
Glad memories will linger,
As these precious years depart,
Of my "sugar cookie cowboy"
Who roped and stole my heart.
As Long as There are Little Boys
by LaVerne P. Larson
As long
as there are little boys
For mischief and mud pies.
For charming you,
alarming you,
and coaxing lullabies
As long
as there are little boys,
So busy everywhere.
Your world is sure to be
A happy, loving place
to share.
