A Son
There's nothing like the blessing
Of a little baby boy
To fill your home with sunshine
And fill your heart with joy.
With hugs and bugs and footballs,
Baseballs, toys, and grins,
You'll cherish all the memories
That you will share with him.
Take the time to walk and talk,
To share his dreams and plans.
All too soon your little boy
Will grow into a man.
My Sons
By Ruth Joy
Sticky fingers,
dirty face
rugs and pillows
out of place.
Cars and tractors
here and there,
blocks and boats
everywhere.
Gold and silver
have I none,
but worth a million
are my sons.
To My Son
To my son, ________
Whom I love very much
You'll always be my baby boy
And I'll always see you as such
This is your life
At least the first few years
The baby, the toddler, the youth
Looking back brings me to tears
So I made for you this scrapbook
Because time can tend to fly
This way you'll have your memories
Of all the days gone by
I worked on this book
Every chance that I had
To save your special times
When you were a little lad
All the poems and the pictures
I wrote and placed just so
I still can't help but wish
I could keep you little and not let go
So keep this book with you
Through the chapters of your life
Then on one special day
Show your children and your wife
Always remember
And never forget
How much Mommy loves you
And how much this book meant
Your Name
You got it from your father,
It was all he had to give.
So it's yours to cherish
For as long as you may live.
If you lose the watch he gave you,
It can always be replaced.
But a black mark on your name, son,
Can never be erased.
It was clean the day you took it,
And a worthy name to bear.
When he got it from his father,
There was no dishonor there.
So make sure you guard it wisely,
After all is said and done.
You'll be glad the name is spotless
When you give it to your son.
