About Me
- Name:
- Carl David Quaif
- Residence:
- Ruislip Manor, Middlesex, England
- Birthdate:
- April 10th, 1968 (South Ruislip, Middlesex - moved far, haven't I? ;-)
- Personal:
- Recently married (1 year ago) to Jackie Quaif (nee Maycraft); no children
- Occupation:
- Civil Servant
- Why?
- I wish I knew...;-)
- Now, on to the good stuff...
- Length of Time Played in Mystara:
- Over 15 years
- Player or DM?
- Both
- OD&D or AD&D?
- Both, but primarily oD&D (my first love! ;-)
- Favourite Mystaran Nations:
- Karameikos, Glantri, Wendar, Alfheim
- Why?
- Karameikos: because when I started playing, it was the whole world! ;-) - and I love the "traditional" feel of the country. Glantri: because it's a marvellous place to play, if you're a Mage - far more quirky and varied than Alphatia, IMO (although I love that, too...). Wendar: because it's been passed over for development, up 'til now, and therefore ripe for "mucking around with." (heh heh heh...) Alfheim (and Vyalia, Callarii, etc): because it's (in the words of Sam Gamgee) "ELVES, Sir!" ;-))
- Favourite Mystaran Culture:
- Pre-WotI Alfheim.
- Why?
- It blends the best of all the "traditional" Elf-cultures into something special. Destroying that culture during WotI is one thing I still haven't forgiven TSR for (boo).
- What Else I Like:
- Elves of all types, Magic (and Mages) of all types.
- Other Worlds Played:
- Faerun, Ansalon, Taladas, and a couple of home-brewed worlds - but never for long. I'm a Mystaran homebody. ;-)
- So, who's Fahvarim, then?
- Fahvarim's a character who pretty much created himself. :-) Shortly after my first few submissions to the Mystara Mailing List, I tried creating a "more interesting" Ring of Genie Summoning - and from there came the character of Fahvarim (whom you'll know all about, if you've checked out Fahvarim's Ring - you have, haven't you? ;-). When the lovely Jennifer Favia Guerra offered to create this wonderful web page for me, she asked for a name for the page. She suggested I use the name of one of my characters - and the djinn won! ;-)
