Why do you insist on making fun of NSYNC at every chance you get? -NSYNC #1's Fan!!! Because it's fun. Hey, I was at your site I think it's awsome! I read the thing about the record label and if Hanson's next album doesn't go very well, it might be their last... well um, I was also thinking. I don't think that's right because their first few records were with Mercury. The only album that they have out with Island is TTA. If I'm wrong I'm sorry. But does the singles count also on Island? If you're right then we should like do something so that Hanson will be able to keep making records. W/B Jess Hey There! Thanks for the email! I'm so glad that my little rant got ya thinking. That's what they are there for! ;) Okay, here's what I think is the deal. I'm not 100% positive but I think this is what happened/is happening. Hanson got signed to Mercury with a 6 album deal. When Mercury put Hanson onto Island DefJam the album deal and contract carried over. The deal will be the same until Hanson releases their 6th album. After Hanson releases their 6th album, mainly 1 of 2 things can happen. Island DefJam will re-sign them with another album contract or they won't and Hanson will have to get a new contract with another label. To answer your other questions, singles don't count. Only full length albums count (Middle of Nowhere, Snowed In, 3 Car Garage, Live From Albertane, This Time Around and their next album would make 6) I agree with you, I really hope/wish that we could do something so that Hanson could keep making records but basically, I think it's pretty much out of our hands. It is mainly in the record companie's hands, but I'm sure someone will be able to see Hanson's incredible musical and songwritting talents. Hopefully, Hanson will be able to resign with Island DefJam or another record lable will take them on. And trust me, there are TONS of record labels (Jive, Artista, Virgin, Columbia, Atlantic ect) Practically hundreds. So, with Hanson's past success, hopefully another company would take them on. I don't think we have to worry to too much but, it's always a possiblity. Think of it this way, there are practically no Spice Girls fans anymore (sorry if you are one) and their latest album only didn't sell very well at all. (This Time Around sold about 2 million copies and all together, Hanson has sold an estimated 14 million I believe) Yet, record companies continue to support The Spice Girls for their different solo records/careers and their group efforts. Hopefully, one record company will be albe to see Hanson's talent and their ability to stay around for a long time! Sorry to blab on and on and on. I am pretty sure this is how it works and I appreciate you emailing me! If you have anymore comments/questions feel free to ask! Thanks again and stop by the site again sometime soon!
