Once again it’s the thing that most Hanson fans dread.  That Hanson Drought.  Well, I’m sure you remember the one of 1999, but I think it’s back again.  This time for 2001.  I’m not sure why but I like to analyze these droughts.  So here are some of the reasons, I’ve come up with, of why we suffer these droughts in the first place.  And trust me, they aren’t all that negative after all!

*
Perfectionism--  The members of Hanson are total perfectionist if you have yet to notice.  They take so much time and pride into their music that everything has to be JUST right.  They want everything in a new album to be absolutely right.  From the music and lyrics, to the cover picture, they want everything to be just right for their fans.  (and I defiantly appreciate it...I know that when Hanson is in the studio I’m in for another amazing album!!)

*
Guest Artists--  We all probably know by now that a person in the music business has a very hectic schedule.  So when Hanson wants to have guest artists, producers, or writers on the album, sometimes their schedules don’t always meet and it takes awhile to get together.  But the wait is worth it, Hanson can always learn from other musicians and those musicians can learn from Hanson. The collaborations defiantly make for another awesome album.

*
In Need of a Break-- You can’t really blame the guys for being tired.  They just finished recording This Time Around a little more than a year ago.   And after just working for the whole summer, going out and giving the fans an amazing summer tour they are probably beat.  Sometimes people just need a break from everything to relax a little.  They do have lives ya know!  Plus they have to rest up, they will be ready to promote the new album and tour again!  (and let’s pray that they do tour again!)

*
Appeal--  The guys of Hanson are always talking about trying to widen their audience and build their fan base to more than just teenage girls.  When working on an album they are probably always thinking about just that.  When they are writing songs or producing-they are trying to appeal to a wider audience and crowd.  Which is always a plus!
So just smile when ya think about the drought-it really isn’t that bad after all.  Just think of all the good things that will come out of it!!
