As Straight As The Raven Flies

By White Raven

As straight as the raven flies,
I see my path lead right for the sunrise.
Never again to be shadowed with doubt,
For I know He will be there to set me out.

As straight as the raven flies,
I found my path just to the right.
I did not know that I had strayed,
for I had chosen one,
mistaking, misleading, but these song birds made it seem so right.
Now the birds sing true and I sing along.
I may be disfigured but I still know the song.

As straight as the raven flies,
My heart lifts on high.
My body feels light and I stretch to take flight.
No longer bone and flesh do I see,
But white feathers are cloaking me.
He bleached me from black,
I had received from the other path.
My heart pounding, I beat the draft.

As straight as the raven flies,
Lightning flashes in my eyes,
And I scream as I arise!

For I am the Raven,
White on the wing,
And I will fly as high as He deems!
