All Prize Money in Section A has been donated by KERIN AGENCIES.
Prize money will be paid out by the convenor between
11.30 a.m. - 12 noon on Showday.

All exhibits must be at Show Pavilion by 9.15 a.m.

The following conditions have been made by this Society:
1. Exhibits must be bona fide grown or produced by the Exhibitor.
2. All exhibits must be clearly branded with the Section No, Class No.and Variety.
3. The Society reserves the right to amend entries if they are made in the wrong class.
4. Grain, which in the opinion of the Judges, has been submitted to any process
that will reduce germinating power, will be disqualified.
5. Entries to be shown in a sealed bag.
6. Any entries of grain that have been pickled will be disqualified.
7. Any grain entries contaminated with weevil will be disqualified.
8. No competitor to take more than one prize in one class with the same variety of produce.
9. ALL PRODUCE ENTERED MUST BE CURRENT SEASON.
10. Only hard, ASW and soft varieties accepted by Aust. Wheat Board standards will be judged.
11. To be judged on Australian Barley/Australian Wheat Board receival standards.

Please Note: All cooking to be home made - no packet mixture allowed
HINTS ON COOKING FOR JUDGES

1. There should be no crease marks in cakes, resulting from badly lined
cake tins, and no floury patches. Cakes should be evenly risen and
evenly browned - golden brown.
2. Definitely no cake cooler marks on cakes. No testing marks in centre.
3. Make sure tin is large enough to accommodate mixture and where
specified use correct size tin.
4. No paper doileys allowed under cake.
5. Paper plates to be used for display where possible.
6. Cakes may be cooked ahead and frozen, however, ice after removing
from freezer.

14. Orange Cake 20cm Round Tin - uniced
15. Beer Cake
Recipe: 90g butter, 1 cup castor sugar, 1 egg, 2 cups SR flour, pinch of nutmeg, vanilla essence, 125g sultanas, 1 cup flat beer.
Method: Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Sift flour and nutmeg, add with essence, sultanas and lastly flat beer.
Topping: 90gm butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 3/4 cup plain flour. Mix until crumbly.
Put cake mixture into a greased 23cm square tin. Sprinkle topping on cake. Bake in moderate oven for approx 40 minutes.

16. Walnut Cake - Chocolate Icing.
Recipe: 114g butter, 1 cup sugar, Beat to a cream then add 3 well beaten
eggs. When mixture is light and frothy, add 2 cups flour (in which is mixed
2 teaspoons Cream of tartar and 1 teaspoon Carb. soda), 1 teaspoon
cinnamon, 1 dessertspoon cocoa, 1 teaspoon Vanilla. Add 1/2 cup finely
chopped nuts and mix with 1 cup of milk. Bake in moderate oven for 3/4
an hour. Cover with chocolate icing and sprinkle with nuts.
17. Honey Fruit Cake.
Recipe: 50g butter, 150g honey. Beat to a cream, then add 1 beaten egg,
gradually. Add 175g sifted S.R. Flour and a pinch of salt, alternately with
50g sultanas, 50g chopped walnuts and 1/4 cup of milk. Cook for 45 to 60
mins. in a log tin, in a moderate oven.

18. Potato Cake, Struesel Topping - 20cm square tin.
19. Coffee Cake - Not Yeast - square tin - top with cinnamon & sugar.

20. Carrot Cake - Loaf pan - uniced.
Recipe: 2 eggs, 1/2 tspn bicarb soda, 1/2 tspn cinnamon, 2 medium
carrots (roughly chopped), 185g butter (melted), 3/4 cup brown sugar
(firmly packed), 1 cup SR Flour, 1 cup sultanas.
Method: Grease a loaf tin, line base & sides with paper, grease paper
well. Combine eggs, soda, cinnamon & carrots in processor. Process
until carrots are finely chopped. Add butter & sugar, process until
combined. Stir in sifted flour & sultanas. Pour into tin & bake in mod. oven
for approx 50 mins. Stand 5 mins before turning out.

23. Golden Apricot Loaf.
Recipe: 1 1/2 cups S.R. Flour, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon sugar,
1 egg, essence, 1/2 cup milk, 3/4 cup diced apricots (soaked for 15 mins)
1/2 cup chopped dates, few chopped walnuts or almonds. Rub butter into
flour and sugar, add egg, essence, fruit and nuts, milk to make a soft
dough. Bake in a greased log or loaf tin, approx. 35 mins. in moderate
oven. When slightly cool, ice with lemon icing and sprinkle with coconut.

1 1/4 Cups self raising flour, 1 Egg, 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder, 3/4 Cup
of Milk, 1/2 Cup Caster Sugar, 45gm Choc Bits, 80g Butter Melted, 1
Teaspoon Baking Powder.
METHOD: Put flour, sugar, baking powder, coca powder into bowl & mix add beaten
egg, milk, butter & choc bits & combine. Spoon into muffin pans & cook for about
20 minutes. ~makes 12~

The following rules will be strictly adhered to:
Note: All sheep to be accredited free from Ovine Brucellosis & monitored
MNI or better in an OJD market assurance programme.

No sheep to be entered in more than one class.
In respect to ownership of flocks, any individual, partnership, syndicate or limited liability company is regarded by this Society as one owner and flocks cannot be divided for the purpose of exhibiting at the Society's Show between partners or shareholders of a firm owning sheep.
The Chief Steward in this Section shall have power to transfer any entry or entries from any class in which the exhibit has been wrongly entered to the correct class.
Exhibitors are notified that the Society will request the Judge not to award prizes for sheep exhibited, which, in his opinion carries less than 11 months or more than 12 months growth of wool.
All sheep to be shown in the wool unless otherwise specified.
The Judge may withhold First Prize where he considers the exhibits are unworthy, but may award a lower prize in lieu thereof.
Special Note - All Sheep will be judged using the assistance of Micron Measurement, and must have an Official SASMBA Micron Test. These tests will be sourced from the SASMBA by the society and will be affixed to the head tag of the animal by the exhibitor. It is the exhibitors responsibility to ensure that this information is correct.

Conditions
Fleeces competing for this Award must be specially entered and not selected from those competing in other sections. Any fleece which in the opinion of the judges has not been properly skirted, or which cannot be classed in the following classification, will be disqualified; disqualification being the sole decision of the judges.
Fleeces are to be from Merinos, ewe and/or wether sheep, grass fed, unhoused, unrugged, skirted and of 12 months maximum growth. Each fleece, numbers A, B and C, will be judged according to the scale of points set out below, giving a maximum total of 100 points per fleece. The group of three fleeces will then be judged as a single fleece using the same points scale. The maximum possible point score per group is 400 points.

Competition Rules

Rules are adapted from guidelines of SPORTS SHEAR SOUTH AUSTRALIA INC..
~ Shearers own choice of hand pieces, combs & cutters
~ No time allowed for stoppages caused by either gear, hand pieces or
sheep getting away from Shearer
~ Shearers have the right to reject a substandard sheep before shearing
commences provided the Chief judge agrees
~ Heats & Stand No drawn prior to Event.
~ Competitors may be required to present their own sheep for outside judges
~ Shearers must be suitably attired for both competition & prize giving -
including footwear.
~ Any disputes will be taken to the disputes committee of the day:

Chief Judge
Independent Person
~ There is no limit to the amount of time a competitor may take in any class
however the score is calculated accordingly and in the event of any tie - the
best time wins.
~ Each Shearer will have a separate time keeper taken from 'Go' until
machine is switched off after completing final sheep.
The Competitor will be judged on:
a) Welfare of sheep, b) Condition of fleece, c) Appearance of shorn sheep
Refer to notice board on the day for an outline of detailed point penalties.

JUMPING - HORSES GRADE TO BE STATED WHEN ENTRY SUBMITTED
The following rules will be strictly adhered to:
Horses competing in Senior Show Jumping graded competition must be registered and must carry current Performance Cards. Performance Cards must be produced on the day.
Riders competing in Junior Age Jumping competition MUST be members of the E.F.A.
However the horses need not be registered.
Juniors may compete in Senior competition from the age of 12 years, BUT the horse has to be currently registered and carry a current Senior Performance Card -- Senior grading points will apply.
Jumping competitions are conducted under E.F.A./F.E.I.
Stewards reserve the right to re-arrange order in which classes are run on Show Day.
All Horses in Jumping Classes to jump over such jumps as the Committee or Judge may direct.
All horses to comply with E.F.A. regulations re Measuring. Certificates must be available to society on request.
Amplifiers will announce the Class to come into the ring and competitors must immediately come in, otherwise they will be excluded from the event. Regulation 44 and 45 does not apply to this Section.
All exhibits in horse stock must be tied up in such a place as the Committee may allot, and all young stock to be led.
All riders in jumping events to appear in riding habit including AS2063, AS2063.3 standards for approved riding helmets.
Competitors are not permitted to exercise horses over hurdles prior to starting time of Ring Events.
Events will be combined at the Convenor's discretion if insufficient entries are presented on the day.
Protests in Section X must in all cases be in writing and accompanied by a protest fee of $20.
Protests must be lodged with the convenor within 15 minutes from completion of judging of the class in question. If the protest is upheld the protest fee will be refunded. If the protest is dismissed the protest fee will be forfeited.
